Organization & partners
TAT meetings are organized by the NDDO Education Foundation, supported by MCCM Meeting Management, in partnerships with the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO, as of 2005, and the U.S. National Cancer Institute (NCI) as of 2008.

NDDO Education Foundation (www.nddo.org)
The Amsterdam-based NDDO organization is the founder of the TAT series and the primary organizer, responsible for overall management of all events in this series. In 2008, the NDDO Education Foundation has been established to take care of the dissemination of findings obtained in experimental and clinical studies on the prevention and treatment of life-threatening and/or
invalidating diseases such as cancer. The Foundation’s main instruments to achieve its aims in the field of cancer treatment are the congress series “International Symposium on Targeted Anticancer Therapies” (TAT), and the Task Force on “Methodology for the Development of Innovative Cancer Therapies” (MDICT). Another conference series organized by the Foundation is focussing on prevention and early diagnosis of multiple disorders.

National Cancer Institute (www.cancer.gov) /
Center for Cancer Research (ccr.cancer.gov)

The U.S. National Cancer Institute (NCI), authorized by the U.S. Congress in 1937 in the National Cancer Act, is one of 27 Institutes and Centers that make up the National Institutes of Health (NIH). NCI is the world’s largest organization dedicated solely to cancer research, with a staff of almost 5,000 principal investigators and an annual budget of about 5 billion US dollars. NCI is responsible for conducting, fostering, and funding cancer research, as evidenced by the major advances generated through its intramural and extramural research programs.
NCI’s Center for Cancer Research (CCR) is home to more than 250 principal investigators and nearly 1,000 postdoctoral and clinical fellows working in intramural research. Its mission is to inform and empower the entire cancer research community by making breakthrough discoveries in basic and clinical cancer research and by developing these discoveries into new therapeutic interventions for adults and children afflicted with cancer or infected with HIV. CCR investigators collaborate with scientists at other NIH Institutes and Centers, as well as with extramural scientists in academia and industry, both in the U.S. and abroad.

European Society for Medical Oncology (www.esmo.org)
The European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) is a non-profit organization which promotes medical oncology and a multidisciplinary approach to cancer treatment. ESMO is a community of oncology professionals that unites key stakeholders who share the common objective of preventing
cancer, fostering a favorable environment for scientific research, and advocating for equal access to high quality cancer treatment. As the leading European professional medical oncology society, ESMO offers state-of-the-art educational and training programs which provide the oncology community with a platform to disseminate the most up-to-date scientific research and information available. ESMO’s scientific journal, Annals of Oncology, ranks among the top clinical oncology journals worldwide. ESMO is an authoritative voice in the fight against cancer and offers consultative expertise to oncology organizations and European authorities on important issues related to cancer research, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure.
