  Educational grants

The NDDO Research Foundation offers a limited number of educational grants, covering travel, accommodation and registration, for young scientists and clinicians from low-income regions who wish to participate in TAT 2007. Applications for an educational grant must be received at the TAT 2007 Secretariat before or on January 21, 2007. Applications received after this date or incomplete applications will be discarded.


Applying for an NDDO Research Foundation educational grant
In order to be eligible for an educational grant, the candidate must meet all criteria listed below:
  • The applicant must hold a relevant academic degree and must be an employee, Ph.D. student or post doc of an institution conducting cancer research
  • The applicant must be younger than 40 years of age on March 1, 2007
  • The applicant must submit an abstract (deadline January 21, 2007) within the scope of TAT 2007 and his/her abstract must be accepted for presentation during the meeting
  • The applicant must submit the following documents:
  1. The completed grant application form (see below)
  2. A letter of recommendation from the head of the applicant’s department on the institute’s stationary
  3. A readable photocopy of applicant’s identity card or passport showing his/her photograph and date of birth
  4. A brief curriculum vitae of the applicant (maximum 2 pages)
  5. A budget covering travel, accommodation and meals (do not include the TAT 2007 registration fee in your budget); lunches will be provided as part of the TAT 2007 registration package
  6. The online registration number or a copy of the abstract submitted by the applicant (only one author per abstract may apply for an educational grant)

Next steps
  • You are kindly requested to send the required documents as scans attached to an email, or as hard copies by air mail, addressed to the TAT 2007 Secretariat. Submission by fax is not acceptable.
  • Educational grants will be awarded on a competitive basis by the review committee.
  • Notification of educational grants will be sent to awardees no later than February 12, 2006, together with further details of the granting procedure.
  • Recipients of an educational grant who have already registered for TAT 2006 and paid the registration fee, will be refunded the registration fee.
